Contrast: Present Simple and Present Continuous

After this unit, you can:
- differentiate between Present Simple and Present Continuous
- write an email planning a weekend trip with your friends

Some verbs have one meaning in the present simple, but a different meaning in the present continuous.
  • Do you have a bike? = Do you own a bike? (in general)
  • I'm having a great time! = It's a great party! (at the moment)


  • I think this film is great! = I like this film a lot. (in general)
  • Quiet! I'm thinking. = I'm doing a difficult exercise. (at the moment)
